Arrived in London Heathrow at 6am (2pm Singapore time, SGT)..
Cleard immigration by 6.15am, and waited a good 15 minutes before luggage started rolling out.
Went to take the Tube from Heathrow T4, and was out just before 7pm.
Got a weeklong travel card by Oyster (just ONE of the many travel companies) - £39 (SGD120).
Well, Heathrow to Hammersmith was about 40 minutes - that's where I made my transfer to the District line to take the tube to Victora, London where I would take the train to my aunt's place.
Arrived at Victora at 8.10am. The staff are generally quite helpful, albeit curt and impatient at times. But generally nice, and the greater part of them are genuinely friendly. My train to Sydenham Hill was to leave at 8.22am, and I managed to locate it and then I was off.
All along the way I didn't feel like taking out my SLR camera for fear that I might be identified as some Japanese tourist and get mugged. Besides, I had a bagpack and a suitcase with me.
Well, the journey to my Sydenham Hill was about 15 minutes, and upon getting there, I wasn't sure which exit to take.
This English Gentleman lent me his mobile to call my Uncle who gave me concise instructions as to how to get to his place.
And so I got there just before 9am, in one piece.
Not bad - three hours from the airport, 26 miles across London to Sydenham Hill.
Will keep you all updated.. (:
